The last season of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power has been released on Netflix and I can definitely affirm that it has been awesome! I am a big fan of the He-Man franchise and when I discovered this new production, I became enthusiastic about it in no time.
Since the first episode, I got immediately entangled with the main characters, discovering a deep customization by the show writers; even if the story was quite different from the original one, in which She-Ra was He-man’s twin sister, I found the fresh ideas to be good ones. I do not deny that I was a little worried that the show itself might not meet with the expectations, after all we are talking about a very popular franchise and we have seen too many times, in the past, how reboots of previously masterpieces end up being not so good works, as their inspirational muses were. Regardless, I happily discovered that the mix between characters struggles, story events and childish jokes was perfectly balanced.
I have been waiting for the fifth season since the last one ended, and when I watched all of its episodes from Netflix, I rediscovered a sense of nostalgia for being forced to leave the heroes that accompanied me during each adventure in Etheria to their fate, knowing that there won’t be a sixth chapter.
One last note is about the main opening theme. The song Warriors is very beautiful. You may find it on Spotify in two different versions: the original one performed by Aaliyah Rose, which is the same that we learned to love at the beginning of each episode, and a more sad and dark version, performed by AJ Michalka, which I find terrific and which was used to present the season 5 trailer.
My final score for She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is a 10 out of 10. So, if you have the time and you would like to spend some good time watching a good animation production, do not hesitate and pick this show up.
